Predictive Maintenance

Using telemetry and pattern analysis to anticipate equipment failures before they happen.

Back to Glossary

Definition

Predictive maintenance is the practice of using telemetry, sensor data, and pattern analysis to anticipate equipment failures before they happen, enabling repairs to be scheduled proactively rather than reactively. In network infrastructure, predictive maintenance combines hardware health metrics (temperature, power draw, error rates), aging trends, and known failure signatures to forecast when components are at risk. VEMIO™ applies predictive maintenance principles to enterprise network gear, surfacing aging-out hardware months before failure.
