15+ Years of Enterprise Infrastructure Design, Modernization & Campus Revamps

Enterprise Networking
15+ Years of Enterprise Infrastructure Design, Modernization & Campus Revamps
Executive Summary
Over a 15+ year partnership, Vinay Enterprises designed, scaled, modernized, and re-engineered enterprise infrastructure for Elitecore, Cyberoam, and later Sophos Technologies across multiple campuses in Ahmedabad, delivering high-density engineering-ready, fiber-backed, redundant network environments.
Key Outcomes
Outcome 1
15+ years of continuous infrastructure partnership

Outcome 4
Migration from 1G to 10G/40G core uplinks without disruption
Migration from 1G to 10G/40G core uplinks without disruption

Challenge

  • Rapid organizational growth requiring multi-floor and multi-campus expansion
  • High-density engineering environment demanding stable, low-latency infrastructure
  • Need for distributed rack architecture across floors
  • Large-scale structured cabling (5,000+ nodes in later phases)
  • Lifecycle refresh of aging infrastructure (1G → 10G/40G migration)
  • Post-acquisition revamp of a newly built campus executed by another vendor
  • Requirement for zero-disruption live network migration

Solution

  • Designed distributed campus architecture with localized floor racks and fiber backbone
  • Implemented fully redundant Layer 3 core with Cisco switching ecosystem
  • Deployed multimode 24-core fiber backbone across racks
  • Engineered structured cabling with uniform rack discipline and labeling
  • Executed enterprise-wide refresh using Cisco C9300 (access) and C9500 (core)
  • Migrated uplinks from 1G to 10G/40G with fiber breakout architecture
  • Re-engineered VLAN segmentation and redundancy models
  • Delivered complete BOQ, CAT6A cabling design, smart rack architecture, and data center layout for Sophos House 2 revamp

Implementation

  • Step 1: Initial enterprise setup at CG Road (2008–2010) with Cisco 2960X access switching and structured cabling across multiple floors
  • Step 2: Cyberoam House 1 deployment (2011) – 27 racks, multimode 24-core fiber backbone, Cisco 3850 core, ~80–90 switches, ~50–60 APs, ~100 CCTV cameras, strict VLAN segmentation
  • Step 3: Enterprise-wide technology refresh (2019) – Cisco C9300 access, C9500 core, 10G/40G uplink migration, structured cabling redesign
  • Step 4: Sophos House 2 audit and redesign (2019–2024) – 27+ APC racks, 6 two-post racks, 5,000+ nodes, CAT6A deployment, full data center + office network architecture
  • Step 5: Live migration, stabilization, and compliance validation without operational downtime

Tech Stack

  • Network: Cisco 2960X, 3850, C9300 (access); Cisco C9500 (core)
  • Security: VLAN-based segmentation, management VLANs, server VLAN isolation
  • Wireless: Controller-based Cisco wireless (multi-floor deployment)
  • Monitoring / Tools: Structured rack discipline, LIUs, fiber backbone management, APC rack systems, CAT6A structured cabling
